European private equity real estate investment manager, MARK, has appointed Bruce Gillingham Pollard to advise on retail leasing alongside CBRE at the Borough Yards development in London SE1.

The 140,000 sq.ft mixed use scheme, adjacent to the historic Borough Market, is south London’s newest food, retail, leisure and office landmark. Everyman Cinema, Barrafina, Brother Marcus, and The Office Group, which has taken 51,000 sq.ft of space, are among the key tenants.

The site was originally a mixture of derelict land and Victorian railway arches, which have since been restored and repurposed as part of its redevelopment. Designed by award-winning SPARCC, Borough Yards features five mixed-use buildings and public realm.

Borough Yards opened its doors in early 2022, with Paul Smith, Parillan, Bar Daskal, Burger & Beyond, Butchies and Vinoteca other high-profile tenants capitalising upon the area’s high footfall rates.

The scheme connects Borough Market with the River Thames’ South Bank, while London Bridge Station is less than two minutes’ walk away. London’s financial district, Shakespeare’s Globe and Tate Modern are in the immediate area.

The next generation of family clubs Jaego’s House will open in Kensal Rise in May 2022, quite literally something for all the family under one roof.

What a year 2021 has been! Despite the lows of restrictions and lockdowns, there have been some highs and here at Bruce Gillingham Pollard we have been exceptionally busy.

SO, we thought it only right to celebrate some of those highs.

Josh Katz and Berber and Q are coming to Queen’s Park with Carmel where they will offer an all day menu inspired by North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Lonsdale Road comprises a mix of independent offices workshops and restaurants including Milk Beach who recently expanded.

Securing Carmel on Lonsdale Road is another great example of one of our trends of 2021 and the rise of London Villages.

BGP have acted on behalf of Taylor Wimpey to secure Mousetail Coffee who have taken an internal unit within the residential marketing suite at Postmark. The letting will help to drive footfall into the marketing suite giving prospective buyers a better and more unique experience, whilst also acting as an anchor for the remaining commercial units.

Postmark is a development by Taylor Wimpey located in Farringdon consisting of 650 new homes and 24,000 sq ft of commercial space. BGP are instructed on the entirety of the commercial elements with the Phase 1 leasing campaign about to commence. We believe it is important to have a joined up approach, with input from the investment team throughout the process, helping to ensure the client achieves best value when it comes to ultimate sale. This can be achieved by making sure any leasing terms are in line with current trends and investor requirements.
